Why NGO India?

There are over one million NGOs operating in India supporting a large number of important causes. Of these approximately 70% are estimated to be single-person operations or extremely small, often with limited access to resources and expertise in areas like fundraising, PR & communications, governance and legal compliances.

NGO India is a not-for-profit initiative designed to allow large and small not-for-profit organisations based in India and overseas to network, share best practices and positively engage with key stakeholders from domestic and international corporates, local and national government and the general public.

There is a need to:

  • Raise awareness of individual NGOs and the work they do
  • Facilitate NGOs of different sizes serving varied communities to network with each other – not only to share knowledge but also to help establish relationships that will lead to mutual support and collaboration
  • Connect NGOs with experts in good governance, PR & communications and fundraising
  • Provide a platform that will allow NGOs to engage with government and corporate stakeholders
  • Create opportunities to showcase the good work of NGOs among the public, to facilitate volunteering, fundraising and other positive action
